Liz is excited to meet and support all patients with heir dental appointments, and to offer a positive front desk experience for all.
She is looking forward to meeting you all.
Melissa – Dental Assistant
Australia Dental Burpengary would like to welcome the bubbly Miss Lou to the team!
Lou is actually called Melissa but she has had the nickname since she was two years old and now it has just stuck with everyone new that she meets.
Lou has a certificate lll in Dental Assisting. She is very passionate about dentistry and it certainly runs in the family as two of her family members also work in the Dental industry.
When Lou is at home she enjoys spending time with her family and crazy, adorable Labrador. She also enjoys photography and gardening as a hobby on the side.
We know sometimes people can feel anxious about visiting the dentist especially for children but Lou has a background in Early Childhood and with these skills can create a positive and caring experience that promotes lifelong relationships for all ages.
Sophie – Dental Assistant
Nickname: Sophie (but you can call me Soph!)
Sophie has a background in Registered Nursing and is due to graduate in mid 2022, however don’t let that fool you! She is extremely clinical and passionate about all things healthcare, and recently started her dental career in 2022.
Her passion for healthcare stems from her grandparents, parents and extended family, all who practise within the medical industry in various fields, including pharmacy, paramedicine, and medicine!
Sophie spent much of her childhood growing up between Hungary and Australia, and calls both countries home.
In fact, secretly, sometimes she wishes she could just smush the two together and create one massive country.
When Sophie is at home, she enjoys interior decorating (you’re looking at a Kmart connoisseur, here), spending time with her little family, and snuggling with her (stinky) rescued Bull Arab, Paul.
Sophie also holds the longest record in her family for no fillings in her teeth, as sadly her brother lost out in 2010 when he was required to have one done.
Rest assured, she is still going strong, and is not looking to relinquish her title anytime soon.
With a love of paediatrics, Sophie thrives off providing a family centred care environment, and endeavours to create positive experiences for all those who walk through the clinic’s door with her bubbly, outgoing, personality.
Jade – Trainee Dental Assistant
Hi, my name is Jade and I’m currently studying my certificate 3 in dental assisting at Australian Dental Burpengary as I aspire to become a fully qualified dental assistant by the end of 2023. So far, I have learnt many skills and techniques in the dental world, but my favourite would definitely have to be observing and assisting extractions, specifically ones with an abscess. I started my training with AADA college as a school-based trainee in March 2022, I’m in my last year of school at St Eugene College and get to leave school every Friday to complete my training at Australian Dental Burpengary. I am also completing a certificate 3 in becoming a health assistant. As you can already tell I love studying and working in the health field and can’t wait to learn more and soon enough become qualified. I get my passion for the health field through my family who also work in the dental and health world. When I’m not studying at school or at the dentist, you’ll find me either at the beach with my 2 beautiful rescue dogs Shadow and Lucy or fulfilling my auntie duties by babysitting my nieces and nephew with arts and craft. Something I love about working at Australian Dental Burpengary is the teamwork, kindness, loyalty to patients and the amazing community spirit portrayed everyday through all the amazing staff. I look forward to meeting all new and existing patients, if you see me observing in the surgery, assisting, or just giving a helping hand around the dentist don’t be afraid to say hello, I’m known by my friends as family as extremely passionate, caring, Whitty, creative and determined.
