Dr Terry studied and graduated from The University of Queensland with Honours in 2015 and has experience in private and public dental clinics. Dr Terry has also obtained a postgraduate qualification from James Cook University, allowing him to do complex dental implants.
Terry’s main interest in dentistry is Oral Medicine/Pathology and Periodontology and whilst studying dentistry at the University of Queensland became the founder and president of the Taiwanese Dental Group and is currently a member of the Queensland Medical Orchestra.
Terry has also volunteered with the Tzu Chi Foundation where he collaborated with other dentists to treat refugees. Other than English,Terry can speak fluent Mandarin, Chinese, Taiwanese and is currently learning Japanese.
Terry’s other interest include cooking, composing music and playing badminton and looks forward to working alongside the dentist’s within the Australia Dental team!
Dr Sam Chan
Australia Dental Burpengary welcomes our newest member Dr Sam Chan.
Dr Sam was born in Taiwan and raised in New Zealand before moving to Brisbane for studies. He graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science with Honours from the University of Queensland in 2015.
After spending 2 years practising in rural Queensland he has returned and settled back into Brisbane. Sam has recently joined the Burpengary team and has a keen interest in oral surgery and preventative dentistry.
Sam also excels in treating anxious patients and giving painless injections. Sam regularly attends Continuing Professional Development courses and workshops to further his learning. Sam is a lover of exotic teas and a classical music enthusiast. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and recording piano pieces.
Dr Ian Zhou
Ian was born in China and migrated to Sydney at a young age to continue his primary and secondary education. Ian graduated from Griffith University with both a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and Master of Dentistry. Ian has recently joined the Australia Dental Burpengary team and enjoys building trusting relationships with patients and strives to deliver high-quality treatment to positively influence dental health of patients. Ian has a keen interest in both restorative dentistry as well as preventive dentistry. With a gentle and caring demeanour, Ian is passionate about providing a positive experience at the dentist for the entire family. On the weekends, Ian often enjoys exploring restaurants and cafes, watching movies and keeps active with hiking, running and playing sports.
Dr Pawan Bista
Thank you for your trust and choosing me to be your dentist. I am sure you would like to know a little bit about me. I completed Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2006 from Kathmandu, Nepal. After a few years of private dental practice, I went to do PhD in pain Neuroscience from Germany and continued further research in the USA for 3.5 years. In 2016, I came to Australia to join the University of Queensland, and later in Melbourne and Monash University. I love to treat dental pain. My areas of interest include dental pain management, root canal treatment, and aesthetics restorations including crowns, bridge and veneers. I update myself with professional development courses regularly. I have published numerous original research articles in world renowned international journals.
